Saudi Super Cup final four teams train at HKBU

While the Saudi Super Cup Hong Kong, China took place at Hong Kong Stadium on 19, 20 and 23 August, the Joint Sports Centre (JSC), located at HKBU, was selected as one of the official training venues. The four participating teams, Al-Ahli, Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr, and Al-Qadisiyah had conducted a total of 16 training sessions at JSC since 14 August, six of which were open to media.

Football superstars who attended training sessions at JSC included Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mané and João Félix from Al-Nassr. During the two open training sessions, they participated in warm-ups, rondo drills, and sprint exercises alongside their teammates. During the team’s final training session, Al Nassr’s coaching team took a commemorative photo with JSC staff members and presented a pennant as a token of appreciation. The pennant was received by Mr Lam Kam-fai, Senior Sport Facilities Manager of JSC and Estates Office at HKBU, in recognition of JSC’s thoughtful arrangements and support over the past few days.

In the tournament’s semi-finals, Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli advanced to the final, where while Al-Ahli triumphed as the champion and Al-Nassr finished as runners-up.

JSC, funded by the University Grants Committee, is jointly owned and managed by HKBU, CityUHK, and PolyU.
